NEW CHAIRMAN OF THE ARAB-BELGIUM-LUXEMBURG CHAMBER OF COMMERCE |

 The Board of Directors of the Arab-Belgium-Luxemburg Chamber of Commerce on Thursday June 4th, 2009, elected Mr. Johan Beerlandt, Chief Executive Officer of Besix Group, as the new Chairman of the Chamber. Mr. Beerlandt thus succeeds to Mr. Willy Monfils, Chairman of the Board since 1991. Mr. Johan Beerlandt joined the Besix Group in 1974 as Junior Engineer. He was appointed General Manager of Besix in 1994, became Managing Director in 1998 and evolved to the position of Chief Executive Officer in 2001. In 2004, he led the Leveraged Management Buy Out of the group’s holding company and became Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Besix Group. He is also Chairman of Besix and Chairman of its Executive Board. Mr. Johan Beerlandt has an exemplary experience of the Middle Eastern markets, where he managed a large number of prestigious projects, more particularly in Iraq (the Alkaim Fertiliser Complex), the United Arab Emirates (desalination plants in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, the headquarters of Etisalat, the Baynunah Tower and the development of Dubai Airport) and Qatar (the Doha port and the Khalifa Olympic Stadium).
