In 1997, he fully took over the shares of the firm and developed it to grow into the Top 5000 of Belgian companies. With 22 permanent employees, Contralo belongs to the smaller companies in the international logistics market, but in terms of turnover and volume, the enterprise is among the biggest players in this sector. Contralo may therefore be considered to be an important player in the world of logistics. Contralo offers its customers international logistics expertise and a fast and reliable service. The company is working worldwide and develops a professional logistics service from A to Z. The firm operates throughout Europe from its Antwerp-based offices. Only 5% of the customers are located in Belgium, the other 95% come from other countries. Contralo provides neutral multimodal transportation, covering container transport via rail, air, sea and road. The efficient, perfect multilingual staff is always looking for the best logistics solutions, adopted to the needs of the customer. Due to their flexibility, they can respond immediately to the specific demands of the customer, creating personalised services with added value. In recent years, Contralo specialised in bulk liquids. The company developed a new, innovating system called Conflex. This is a cost-effective alternative for transporting liquids in bulk which plays a niche market. The concept is based upon years of experience in terms of loading and fitting of flexi tanks and makes it possible to offer a specific service to clients. Conflex includes the full range of services developed by Contralo for its customers, but coupled with the use of the best materials for flexi tanks. Conflex currently focuses on Europe, but the system is soon to be introduced worldwide. Contralo records strong growth since several years. Early in 2010, the Antwerp office was renovated and expanded and the company now studies the possibility to open an office in Singapore. The development of a representation in Singapore should bring Contralo closer to the important and fast growing Asian markets.
