The Ouarzazate 500 MW Solar Power Complex

The Kingdom of Morocco launched in 2009 the Moroccan Plan for Solar Energy to develop a minimum of 2,000 MW of solar power generation by 2020. The Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy (MASEN) now launches the pre-qualification process for the development of the first phase of the solar power complex located near the city of Ouarzazate.

The first phase will follow the independent Power Producer (IPP) model and will consist of one or more thermal solar plants with a minimum capacity of 125 MW. It is scheduled to begin operation in early 2014.

MASEN invites interested companies with the capacity and experience in implementing solar thermal power projects to submit their Qualification Statements in accordance with the criteria and procedures set forth in the pre-qualification document available at https://masen.local-trust.com/
